Hyundai of St. Augustine unveils the 2012 Hyundai Genesis in Florida with a new 5.0 liter V8 engine that will deliver 429 HP and will be the direct competitor of porche.
Hyundai of St. Augustine is proud to announce this luxury sedan will be available for sale and ready to test drive this summer. Visit our website today, browse our inventory, and choose from the best financing options your leading Florida Hyundai dealer offers you.
The 2012 Hyundai Genesis for sale in Florida is due a facelift, a bigger and more powerful V-8, and an eight-speed automatic transmission. For technology and performance, those changes should elevate this already-laudable luxury four-door into the upper echelon of the premium-sedan segment.
The 2012 Hyundai Genesis sedan will remain a midsize four-door whose general demeanor errs on the conservative side – the better to fit in with upscale cars it hopes to displace on the driveways of prosperous buyers.
The Genesis sedan has been modestly successful in terms of sales and a revelation to elite automotive journalists, who upon its 2009 launch voted it the North American Car of the Year. Hyundai will continue to pitch the 2012 Genesis sedan against entrenched luxury cars such as the Lexus ES and GS and even the Mercedes E-Class, positioning it as their equal for luxury and performance and their superior for features-per-dollar.
The 2012 Hyundai Genesis sedan will again march to the premium-segment drummer with rear-wheel-drive and a choice of V-6 and V-8 engines. It’ll again come in two models, each named for its engine. The 2012 Genesis 3.8 sedan will retain a 3.8-liter V-6 that’s likely to retain ratings of some 290 horsepower and 264 pound-feet of torque.
A larger-displacement engine should compel Hyundai to rename the V-8 version of the 2012 Genesis sedan. Expect it to be called the 2012 Genesis 5.0 in recognition of a new 5.0-liter engine. This will be an evolution of the 4.6-liter V-8 powering the 2011 Genesis 4.6 sedan. With advances such as direct fuel injection, expect the 5.0-liter to furnish at least 420 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of torque. By comparison, the 2011 Genesis’s 4.6-liter V-8 had 385 horsepower and 333 pound-feet of torque.
The 2012 Hyundai Genesis features list isn’t likely to expand significantly: it already includes virtually all the essentials appropriate to the premium-sedan and sporty-coupe segments. And unlike a good number of competitors, Hyundai treats many of the most desirable features as standard equipment, not as extra-cost options.
Every 2012 Genesis sedan will again come with leather upholstery, heated power front seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The steering wheel will again include controls for the standard Bluetooth mobile-phone link and audio system. An auxiliary jack and a USB iPod interface will be standard.
